Meet Our Governing Board
Governance at Haydon Bridge High School is currently provided through an Interim Executive Board (IEB). The IEB fulfils the role of the governing body and is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, performance and accountability of the school.
It works closely with school leaders to ensure high standards of education, effective safeguarding, strong financial oversight and continued school improvement.
The Interim Executive Board brings together experienced professionals who provide focused challenge and support, ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of students, staff and the wider school community.
Our IEB
Our IEB qualifies as the Governing Body of our school. Any reference in the Education Acts to a governor or foundation governor has effect as a reference to an IEB member.
Our IEB takes on the responsibilities of a normally constituted Governing Body and will be required to fulfil the core functions of a Governing Body as set out in Regulation 6 of the Act, which includes, but is not limited to ensuring:
- That the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school are clearly defined.
- That the headteacher performs their responsibilities for the educational performance of the school.
- The sound, proper and effective use of the school’s financial resources.
An IEB also has legislative responsibility and strategic oversight for the school’s safeguarding arrangements.
