POLICY & SUPPORT
A Fair Deal for Every Family
At our school, we follow the Department for Education (DfE) guidance on charging and remissions to ensure fairness, transparency and equal access to opportunities for all students.
We aim to provide a broad and enriching educational experience while ensuring that no student is disadvantaged due to financial circumstances. In line with national guidance, we do not charge for education during the school day, including teaching materials, equipment and activities that form part of the curriculum.
Charges
However, there may be occasions where charges are permitted, such as for:
- Optional extra activities that take place outside of school hours
- Music tuition provided individually or in small groups
- Board and lodging on residential visits
- The cost of replacing lost or damaged school property
Where a charge is made, it will always be clearly communicated in advance.
We recognise that some families may require support, and we are committed to ensuring that all students can participate fully in school life. Through our Charging and Remissions Policy, financial assistance may be available for eligible families, particularly for activities such as educational visits. This ensures that no student is excluded due to financial hardship.
