School Day Changes for the New Academic Year 2026- 2027
For the new academic year, we will be making some adjustments to the structure of the school day to further support high-quality teaching and learning.
While the start and finish times of the school day will remain unchanged, there are a number of key updates:
- We will move to a one-week timetable, consisting of five 60-minute lessons each day. This provides a total of 25 lessons per week and ensures a consistent and focused learning experience across all subjects.
- Breaktime and lunchtime will remain the same length, maintaining opportunities for students to rest, socialise, attend clubs and recharge during the day.
- Tutor time will take place at the start of the day, allowing staff to better support students in preparing for their learning. This will help ensure students are organised, focused and ready to engage in a full day of high-quality lessons.
These changes are designed to create a clear and purposeful structure to the school day, supporting both academic progress and students’ overall wellbeing.
