Haydon Bridge High School provides a daily catering service with a range of hot meals, snacks, and drinks available at break and lunchtime. We are committed to offering healthy, balanced options that fuel students through the school day.

How to pay for School Meals
All students and staff will be issued with a personal account: a computerised account which stores information in the same way as a bank account.
Benefits of a Cashless System
- Less hassle. No need to find money on a daily basis.
- Parents/carers pay online in advance, ensuring that money is used for lunch.
- A daily spend limit can be applied to any student’s account.
- Individual reports on students’ accounts can be accessed via +Pay for Parentmail.
- More hygienic than handling cash.
- Students on free meals have the same system and can be assured anonymity.
- As there is no cash handled at the point of sale, the speed of service is increased and queues are reduced.
Putting Money onto the Account
- The method for adding funds is online using +Pay through ParentMail (minimum £10.00). This avoids students having to queue to add funds to their card and the need to bring cash into school.
- We would be grateful if the student’s account is kept in credit.
- Please note that if there is no money on the student’s account, we will be unable to provide a meal.
Paying for Meals
- At the checkout, students can easily place a designated finger on the sensor or enter a four-digit code if they prefer. The meal cost will then be deducted from their account.
Free School Meals
- Students eligible for free school meals will use the same system. Each day, the meal’s cost will be added to their account, and any unused allowance will be removed at the end of the day.
Additional Information
- All items purchased from the canteen can be paid for using this method.
- ParentMail will provide a real-time balance at all times.
