KS3

At Key Stage 3, homework is an important part of reinforcing learning and developing independent study habits. In core subjects students will be set homework on a weekly basis to consolidate classwork, practise key skills and prepare for future learning. In foundation subjects, homework is set termly, allowing students to explore topics in greater depth and demonstrate creativity and independent research skills.

All homework is carefully planned to be purposeful and manageable, supporting students in achieving their full potential while building strong routines for study.

KS4

At Key Stage 4, homework plays a crucial role in preparing students for examinations and supporting coursework completion. All subjects set weekly homework, which focuses on exam practice, revision tasks, and preparation for assessments.

This includes working on past papers, targeted exam-style questions, and, where applicable, Non-Examined Assessment (NEA) tasks. These regular assignments are designed to build confidence, deepen understanding, and ensure students are fully prepared to achieve their best outcomes.

KS5

At Key Stage 5, homework expectations are tailored to the specific demands of each subject. Students will be set regular, subject-dependent tasks that support progression towards examinations and, where applicable, Non-Examined Assessment (NEA).

These may include exam-style questions, independent research, wider reading, coursework development, and revision activities. Homework at this stage is designed to promote independence, deepen subject knowledge, and equip students with the study skills required for success in further education and beyond.
