Exam season can feel daunting, but you’re not on your own. This page brings together the practical information you need — from who to contact in school, to what your results mean on the day, and the support available if things don’t go as you’d hoped.

Results
What will I receive on Results Day?
The Exam Board(s) ‘Candidate Statement of Provisional Results’ will detail your mark and grade. Result sheets issued on Results Days are provisional results.
Why does it say my result is ‘provisional’?
Exam Boards report all results on a provisional basis until the appeals deadline has passed and all appeals have been concluded. The final confirmed result will be shown on your Certificate.
When will I get my Certificate?
Certificates are not posted home because Exam Boards do not replace certificates lost in the post. If possible, please call or email school to request your certificates in advance, so they will be ready for collection.
Post Results Service
We hope that all our students are pleased with their results, but there will inevitably be some students who have not achieved what they expected and are worried about next steps.
All enquiries about results should first be discussed with the relevant Head of Department and/or Subject Teacher, who will advise on the best course of action. They will have more detail about grade boundaries and can help students decide which of the post results services could be most appropriate.
It is rare for marks to change upwards by more than a marginal amount, and any payment made for a review will only be reimbursed if the overall grade increases. Students and parents must be aware that a grade can also stay the same or go down, and that the original result cannot be reinstated where a lower grade has been given following a Review of Results.

Requests must be submitted for each subject, including the unit and/or component and/or tier, on the appropriate consent form, and payment made.
